Alessia Cara
At the age of 19, she released her debut single, Here. It received lots of acclaim and was well received by both listeners and critics. The song peaked at number 19 in both the Canadian Hot 100 as well as Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone called the song one of their Top Songs in 2015. In the same year, she released her first album Know It All, the song Scars to Your Beautiful ranked on the Billboard Hot 100 and Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200. It also was one of the five original songs. According to an interview Cara did in conjunction with Rap Up, the song had a lot of significance for a lot of the listeners who related to her story about finding acceptance and appreciation for yourself. Cara is known for incorporating messages about mental health compassion and self-love in her songs. The music that she has written comes from Cara's personal struggle in overcoming mental health issues as well as insomnia. Reuters stated that she calls the album "half tumultuous, half perfected". Her development was assisted by a therapy. She encourages others, if needed, to ask for help. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on July 11, 1996. In 2010, her parents gave her a brand-new guitar which she utilized to develop her passion for music. A few years later, at 13 she started covering her most loved songs via YouTube one of the biggest media platforms to show the world that she was talented and determination to develop into an artist. A cover of one of her songs, Sweater Weather, was what got her noticed. EP Entertainment gave her the chance to write and record her own tracks.
